Porsche 914 6 GT - 3.6L DME - Mule Car

This project car is being built to show the world an ultimate street/race 914-6 GT. Our intension is to make Porsche enthusiasts “sick” on more than one level. It will also give the public a reference to what can be done with Patrick Motorsport products and complete in-house services. We chose to use the solid and reliable 1995 Porsche 3.6L, Twin Plug DME Engine – This engine is an excellent platform for an awesome linear power curve and super reliability. For the installation into the “Project Mule Car”, the engine has been fitted with our Cam Block of Kit, Single Belt Alternator/ Crank Pulley Kit, 914-6 Engine Sheet Metal Kit, our special Engine Conversion Mount, 3.6L DME Engine Conversion Harness, Conversion Air Intake Boot Kit, Air Injection System Delete Kit, Stainless Steel Sport Headers with Polished Stainless Silencers, 914-6 Reproduction Oil Tank System, and our SETRAB Front Mount Oil Cooler Kit. Many other factory based parts will be used. This car will be fitted with a late model 1986 915 transmission with LSD featuring the WEVO rear tail shift system. The shifting linkage kit is developed by Patrick Motorsports and incorporates a bulk-head mono-ball bearing cartridge system that smoothly and precisely guilds the lightweight shift tube assembly. Rear shift rod utilizes needle bearing universal joints at both ends. The hanging style tail section is mated to the chassis by Patrick Motorsport Rear Delrin Transmission Mounts. The rear axles are the late style Carrera/930 CV type from '85.5 thru '89. These are used with our exclusive stub axle spacer set, allowing the use of the hub-centric 911 SC/Carrera rear wheel flange. This 914-6 chassis has had extensive pre-paint preparation. The chassis was first acid dip/stripped, this revealing the true condition of our platform chassis, The bare steel was then metal finished, and all rust/damage repairs were made. We then added the factory 914-6 GT steel fender flares. These were butt welded and metal finished for the ultimate quality & finish. The chassis was then fitted with a full tube cage that starts at the front suspension pick up points, and ends in the rear trunk area boxing in the shock mounts. We also seam welded the entire chassis for added integrity. Finally the shell gets weeks of welding and deburring prep. before etch primeing the entire chassis on our rotisserie. We also used the Patrick Motorsports Chassis and Trailing Arm Re-Enforcement Kits. To keep weight to the minimum, have prepped and painted lightweight 914-6 GT deck lids, GT front & rear valance, GT side rockers and GT bumpers. The car was put through multiple prime & sand stages to get it straight, and painted (base/clear) in-house. This car will feature black leather Recaro Sport seats with our specially machined Seat Bracket Kit. The gauge cluster will incorporate the VDO Extreme Tachometer Kit and reconditioned factory gauges. Lightweight is taken into consideration for the other interior components.
