|The Porsche 3.6L DME engines are an excellent choice for conversions into the older 914 or 911 chassis. These 3.6L engines are found in the 964 from ’90-’94 ( 250hp – 228 lb/ft ), and 993 from ’95-’98 ( 272hp – 243.2 lb/ft ). We often find the early 2.0L, 2.2L, 2.4L, 2.7L, 3.0L and 3.2L engines are “tired” and with the increasing parts costs and rebuild labor expenses, this begins to approach that of the 3.6L engines. These engines offer several advantages with regards to reliability, power and future service. The DME (Digital Motor Electronics) used to operate the engines ensures excellent hot or cold running with increase efficiency and lower emissions output. These engines are equipped standard with twin plug ignition systems & knock sensing. We have all of the conversion parts you should need to simply install these and other engines into your chassis. This unit updates the original bearing hub and dual belt assembly to a simpler, single belt system. The united hub under-drives the alternator, reducing drag and allows the engine’s air cooling impeller to operate at the same speed for increased engine efficiency. Ideal use for performance engines running higher RPM ranges. The original equipment fan hub features a wearable bearing allowing the alternator and fan operate at independent speeds. The increased alternator speed is intended to produce additional current for electronic accessories. Higher alternator output may assist street models with additional electronic accessories. Recommended for high performance street, or motorsport use.

The 993, 3.6L DME engines included a secondary air injection system consisting of an air pump assembly working with the catalytic converter system functioning to reduce emissions on engine start up. When installing and converting to the 993, 3.6L DME engines to older model cars, the pump assembly can be removed saving weight and complexity.
PLEASD DO NOT TRY USING GENERIC PLUGS INTO YOUR ALUMINUM CAM HOUSINGS FROM THE HARDWARE STORE YOU WILL JUST MAKE PROBLEMS WE DO NOT NEED.
