356 - 3.6L Vario Ram DME (1958) Wow, here is our chance to put a '97 V-Ram 3.6L DME Engine into a '58 356, This is the "Outlaw". We have fitted a '97 993 3.6L DME fuel injected engine, Featuring our PMS conversion 225mm 3.6L DME flywheel, camshaft blockoff's, single belt crankshaft pulley, and much more. We fitted a '85 915 Carrera transaxle w-L.S.D., We went thought and freshened up this great transaxle, and it's ready to go! Well, see for yourself, it's a semi tube chassis made here at PMS. We have a great crew, and it shows !

This is a great shot of the 3.6 and 915 trans installed with our 911 headers and custom made duel muffler system. On the ground you will see very little on the system, making it very hard to tell this is anything more than a beautifully restored 356 until you get a better look at the back of the car when it blows your door off!!!This shows the only stock suspension component, the front torsion tube with 911 vented rotors and 4 piston calipers. After all you couldn't expect the stock drum brakes to stop this monster. They had a hard time slowing the car down with the stock 1600. THIS IS A CUSTOM FABRICATED ALUMINUM OIL TANK THAT WE DESIGNED FOR THIS APPLICATION.

This unit updates the original bearing hub and dual belt assembly to a simpler, single belt system. The united hub under-drives the alternator, reducing drag and allows the engine’s air cooling impeller to operate at the same speed for increased engine efficiency. Ideal use for performance engines running higher RPM ranges. The original equipment fan hub features a wearable bearing allowing the alternator and fan operate at independent speeds. The increased alternator speed is intended to produce additional current for electronic accessories. Higher alternator output may assist street models with additional electronic accessories. Recommended for high performance street, or motorsport use.

The 993, 3.6L DME engines included a secondary air injection system consisting of an air pump assembly working with the catalytic converter system functioning to reduce emissions on engine start up. When installing and converting to the 993, 3.6L DME engines to older model cars, the pump assembly can be removed saving weight and complexity.
