Why use steel instead of aluminum to make flywheels?

  • Porsche and Porsche Motorsports models have always used steel flywheels for both production and race cars. For most Porsche applications, steel is our chosen material for its thermal resistance properties, rigidity and hardness to name a few vital reasons.

Will I experience stalling issues with this lighter weight clutch package installed?

  • Porsche models equipped with the earlier E-Prom type Motronic control units as found in 1990-1995 911 models may or may not experience stalling issues due to engine idle control variances. This problem can be solved by adjusting the Motronic programming and replacing the E-Prom chip with one that is modified. In addition to adjustment of proper idle control, the chip programming can take full advantage of the reduced rotational mass and other modifications. Special pre programmed chips and other special service tactics are available to suit your application. Please feel free to contact us for further details.
