911 Carrera 3.2L (1984-1986) 225mm Billet Flywheel & Centerforce Clutch Package

The Porsche 3.6L DME engines are an excellent choice for conversions into the older 914 or 911 chassis. These 3.6L engines are found in the 964 from ’90-’94 ( 250hp – 228 lb/ft ), and 993 from ’95-’98 ( 272hp – 243.2 lb/ft ). We often find the early 2.0L, 2.2L, 2.4L, 2.7L, 3.0L and 3.2L engines are “tired” and with the increasing parts costs and rebuild labor expenses, this begins to approach that of the 3.6L engines. These engines offer several advantages with regards to reliability, power and future service. The DME (Digital Motor Electronics) used to operate the engines ensures excellent hot or cold running with increase efficiency and lower emissions output. These engines are equipped standard with twin plug ignition systems & knock sensing. We have all of the conversion parts you should need to simply install these and other engines into your chassis. Please contact us today for your needs, should it be individual parts, a complete engine package, or bringing your car to us for a complete 3.6L engine conversion ! Engine Conversion 3.6L > Porsche 914 Chassis

Since the 1987 Model 911, the G50 Type (5 Speed) Transaxles were introduced & offered in the 911 Carrera 3.2L through 1989. Then in 1989, the one year only G50-50 was available for the 930 Turbo. The G50 series incorporates GETRAG / Borg Warner type synchronizer that offers the ultimate smooth and exact shifting we all can appreciate!

The G50's also offer fully synchronized gears, including reverse! We started repairing & building the G-50 transmissions in 1991, 17 years ago. The repairs were mainly the throwout bearing cross shaft damage and updating them to the late style cross shaft & bearing used all the way till 1998. We found the design to be far superior to the earlier 901, 915 & 930 we were accustomed to servicing.

The G50 trans is very durable & offers the first hypoid ring & pinion configuration from PORSCHE in a 911 series car, this means that the centerline of the pinion gear is not centered to the ring gear. The pinion is offset lower to give a better gear to gear tooth contact patch, this again is what makes the G-50 so durable and adapt for high torque application.

In 1992 we started trying to fit the G50 5-Speeds into the 930 Turbo applications. The first attempts were cutting out & replacing the torsion tube section with 911 Carrera '87-'89 tube, including converting the torsion bars, spring plates, and of course the hydraulic pedal assembly, fluid reservoir & G-50 specific shifter assemble system. Wow, this is starting to sound like a bunch of work ! We then fitted early 911 & 930's with coil over shocks, cutting out the center of the torsion center, fabricating a center reinforcement for clearance, etc.. We thought this was less work, wrong. The cutting of the torsion tube is not a great idea, it's almost like the Achilles heal of a 911 & 930. We found this was only optional on track cars that we could tie the weld in cage to the torsion tube area for keeping proper structural integrity. All along this road to G-50 conversion discovery we still were faced with one big issue, a big 25 lbs. G-50 pressure plate Since the 1987 Model 911, the G50 Type (5 Speed) Transaxles were introduced & offered in the 911 Carrera 3.2L through 1989. If you are in the market for a high quality roll bar for PCA, SCCA, VARA, HSR or other club racing use, we have several production options available for Porsche 911 and 911 turbo models 1969- 1989. We employ experience fabricators and perform high quality production based systems for resale as well as in house full cage and racing car preparation. Roll bar and cage design is an affair we take seriously and the end user should too. For increased strength and integrity, the bars are 100 percent TIG welded with proper weld penetration. Tube bending and notching are precisely controlled and build in fixture design ensures each systems fitment will allow for trouble free installations. The production based single piece weld in roll bars was designed considering that eventually the car may need to be converted to full race specifications. With this in mind, the weld in type roll bar is designed to be easily adapted for expandable full cage use. Weight and rigidity is another important factor. As a result, our standard type roll bars are made with the main hoop .120 wall seamless 1.75 Inch DOM steel tubing with the rear and cross bars the lighter .095 wall seamless 1.50 Inch DOM steel tubing. For certain race class specifications, the thicker type materials are necessary for increased roll protection and FIA specifications. For these applications, we offer the main hoop and rear cross bars in the .120 wall seamless 1.75 Inch DOM steel tubing throughout. It will be important to check with your local racing club rules and specifications before ordering. These units are built in production and are available in inventory stock.
Other Notes:
•	Because these roll bars are designed with the harness cross bars behind the seats with proper base plate mounting positions, the standard equipment seat belts do not clearance and will not function.
•	Finishing options are available and most commonly powder coating in a variety of colors is available. Approximate cost is $95.00 with a 1 week turnaround time. Please contact us for further details.
•	Freight and handling charges are approximately $150.00. Extended area service charges or lift-gate deliveries are often an additional expense.

The Porsche Twin Plug Ignition System was designed to fire an additional 6 spark plugs (2 per cyl.) to help increase low and midrange combustion efficiency while inhibiting detonation under extreme conditions. Porsche's original twin plug distributors, produced by Bosch were incorporated in the original performance and racing engines as found in the 906, 911 R, 2.7L RS, 3.0L RSR, 934 and 935 to name a few. The original Porsche Bosch twin plug distributors are no longer produced and availability is scarce causing the costs of these products to skyrocket.

The early Porsche Bosch Twin Plug Ignition System had some short comings which we have addressed and eliminated by incorporating the latest manufacturing and ignition technology. Our system incorporates a Marelli cap which is less expensive and more available than the original. Timing adjustments can now be made much easier and overall fitment is improved due to the tighter machined tolerances. The distributor housing is CNC manufactured of aluminum and the designs were fashioned after the original RSR units. You may notice the sand-blasted finish to emulate the look of the original cast units. The distributor is configured with a centrifugal advance of 8 degrees, this allows the initial setting of 20 degrees static and thus a total of 28 degrees total timing is achieved at just over 2,000 rpm. We have found this to be perfect for high performance street car & our all out track cars alike. The shaft and drive gears are specially sized to fit the 27 mm inside diameter found on the early 2.0L cases and also the 30 mm inside diameter of the later engine cases as found in the more modern 3.0L to 3.6L engines. We have both clockwise and counterclockwise versions available.

The Marelli cap is black in color, feature solid brass terminals unlike the original aluminum terminals found in the Bosch twin plug distributor caps and is ½” smaller in diameter than the original. We’ve partnered with MSD Ignition Systems for all the internal components, and are utilizing a magnetic reluctor system to trigger the spark, not the troublesome and antiquated points system. This signal is transmitted to 2) MSD 6AL (part # IGN MSD 6420) multi-spark CD type box (the late BOSCH 6 pin CD units can be used). The MSD 6AL CD box also features multi spark technology for increase low and mid-range throttle response and greater top end performance. The soft touch rev. control adjustability is expandable in 100 RPM increments with the use of the MSD RPM modules, or can be controlled with full adjustability using (part # IGN MSD 8672). The MSD Blaster II High power coils (part # IGN MSD 8202) are highly recommend along with our exclusive Twin Plug Wire Set (part # ING 09 612 WW) features low OHM resistance and shielded 8 mm wires that utilize a high temperature protective fire braid outer covering for long life & performance.

The application to non-originally equipped twin plug engines will require the engines cylinder heads and lower valve covers to be machined. We provide this service with quick turnaround to parts sent in or these parts are available outright. We also offer matched porting, polishing and complete performance machine services. Installation is straight forward and our staff is always here to assist you.
